Shakespeare is home from being broke and he is great under saddle. So far, we have high hopes for him at the German Oldenburg and Hanoverian licensings this summer.
Named Top Colt at the 2004 RSF Inspection!
Acapella had a really dark (black???, dark brown???) colt on 4/2 with NO WHITE ANTWHERE. He is tall, very pretty head and moves with a lot of knee and uphill already, like daddy, Sandro Hit.
We have named him Shakespeare RSF (Will for short). Looks like he is shedding out to be a very dark brown. Goodbye dun baby fur! Fabulous mover! Inspection team recommended him as a stallion prospect.
Inspection and Show Results
See the new photos of Shakespeare taken at the GOV stallion licensing.
Shakespeare was presented to the GOV, where he was licensed for 10 mares a year. He was shown free jumping over fences where he did great, and he was ridden under saddle for the first time off of our property and he didn't take a wrong step. Then, he was taken the following week to the AHS where he was licensed by them. I am quite proud of this home bred colt, and we are looking forward to breeding him to some of our mares and seeing the results in 2009. For many reasons, I decided not to send Shakespeare to the 100 day test. Standing a stallion in America has changed in the 28 years I have been in horse breeding. It is not so easy to get enough breedings to justify the cost of the test. Shakespeare has OUTSTANDING riding horse qualities. We will try and get him to 4th level for the GOV requirement, and to PSG for the AHS requirement. Meantime, we will see what he can produce.
