It was especially exciting to have Hilltop Farm and Michael Bragdell handle one of my own, Rheporter. Those of you who know me, know I haven't entered a breed show in a long time, so this was a BIG DEAL. Take a look at the individual show reports on Rheporter, Ghlacier, Sheldon (aka Sommer Hit), Lhifeguard, Showgirl, Lhauren, and Whirlpool. Now you see why I was busy running from ring to ring to watch them all go!

MAHB award at Dressage at Devon |
|
|
A really big thrill was winning the cash award sponsored by Paul Cohen and Associations Underwriters for the highest scoring young horse (Rheporter) and the highest scoring mature horse (Ghlacier), bred or owned by a MAHB member. I was the breeder and owner of Rheporter, and the breeder of Ghlacier. Thank you, Paul!
Rheporter: second in her two year old fillies class, and then was named reserve champion filly. She was 5th in the Great American/USDF Championship. Michael Bragdell had been told that he showed too big of a trot (huh?) and so he scaled it down for this class...
Ghlacier: Third in the Great American/USDF Championship . Since Lauren Dearlove, her owner, and I are MAHB members, we both split the $1000 award sponsored by Paul Cohen and Ziplow Horse Insurance. This award was given to the owner and the breeder of the highest placing MAHB mature horse at the show. I won the full amount as owner and breeder of Rheporter, the highest placing young horse! With that $1500 and the prize money for Rheporter's win, it was a good return. This is the first time I ever covered my expenses at a horse show!
Whirlpool: Whirlpool and Sara Schmidt did a super job in the USEF 4 year old tests at Dressage at Devon 2007! In the open class, they placed 8th with a 67.8%. The next day, they placed second with a 79%.
Somer Hit (a.k.a. Sheldon): He had a very successful year in the show ring, but at Dressage at Devon, he looked a little thin and tired, placing 6th in his class.
Showgirl: 15th at Dressage at Devon in 2007 in the two year old fillies class. With that super trot of hers, I was quite surprised she didn't place higher.
Lhifeguard: 5th at Dressage at Devon 2007 in the two year old colts and geldings class.
Lhauren: 7th at Dressage at Devon in the yearling fillies class
