RSF added two new EMC's to our broodmare band- EMC Chee Chee and EMC Chalk One Up.  Chee Chee was named the champion Hanoverian mare for her inspection. We bred EMC Ghenoa, the MPT champion at our AHS inspection, and her owner Sandy Werkheiser is one of my long time friends and a riding student.  We presented Shakespeare RSF, a homebred stallion which was licensed this year by the AHS and GOV. We also presented Fhitzgerald to the GOV.  He needs to be presented again next year due to immaturity and awkward growth this year.  Our mare Fhlora received an 8.4- the highest score ever given outside of Germany for the GOV. We presented 13 foals to the GOV, and received 9 Premium foal awards.  We presented two fillies to the AHS, and they were tied for the top fillies of the day, and the top foals of the day.
I was honored to be asked to be a GOV inspector this summer.  I was on tour with Sarah Schroerer from August 1- 18, traveling to middle and western Canada, WA, OR, NH, NY, PA and VA.  I had a great time meeting friendly horse people, and I really enjoyed judging and giving the comments to the audiences and owners.

Our busy month of July began with the GOV stallion licensing at Highpoint Hanoverians on Saturday, July 7th.  Shakespeare and Fhitzgerald (F. Scott) both jumped well.  Fhitzgerald had a growth spurt just prior to the licensing, but despite his butt being higher than his withers, he trotted well on the triangle.  Shakespeare looked super.  He really picked himself up into the handler's hand (thank you, Klaus Schengber!).  He showed a lot of lift and suspension in the trot.  The other stallions there were all older, so it is always a bit nerve wracking to compare their gaits and development.  Both were shown under saddle.  Tiffany did a good job.  For both stallions, it was their first time being ridden away from home.  They really did well, although I think they were a little tired by the end.  Shakespeare was licensed for 10 mares, and they requested that we bring F Scott back next year, due to his immaturity.  I'm OK with that- it's not a NO!  We were proud and tired, but had to hurry home to prepare for our GOV inspection on Monday.

Our inspectors were Holly Simonson, Uli Henschke and Tobias Hanke.  They arrived on Sunday evening and while Jim got dinner ready, Holly and I inspected foals at Talley Ruhle's farm.  Dinner was very late, but we all enjoyed exchanging stories and having a good time until late in the evening.  We presented 13 mares (Glimmer had already been inspected by them).  The GOV scoring is very tough and most of my mares are only in broodmare shape, but we had four mares that scored over 7.0- Fhlora (8.4), EM Whallis Blue (7.3), EM Dhominica (7.3), and EM Fhrance (7.0).  EM Whitney, Whitesinvogue, Rhussia, EM Dhewpoint, Glimmer, EM Wolkenzauber, and Whest Indies all scored over 6.8.  It was a busy day.

Shakespeare RSF- newly licensed for AHS and GOV

We took Shakespeare RSF to Hilltop farm for the AHS stallion licensing on July 14.  He really jumped well, he presented himself well, and after a nerve- racked day, he was licensed.  The best part was that my joy was shared by my old friends, Lucille Mulkey Broadley and Kate Palmquist, whose stallions were also licensed.  We have decided to not send Shakespeare to the 100 day test, and will instead try the performance route with him, since he is such a super riding horse.  There was no time to bask in glory.  Our AHS inspection was the following day.

Our inspectors were Suzanne Quarles from MD and Dr. Werner Shade from Germany.  There were 5 Hanoverian mares for inspection.  Chee Chee was the high score of the day with a 7.33, Chalk one Up received a 7.0, two other mares were place in the Main Stud Book, and one was put into the Stud Book.  The Mare Performance test went well.  The two outside mares had been coming regularly for free jumping practice sessions.  The top score went to 4 year old EMC Ghenoa, bred by us and owned by Sandy Werkheiser.  She was followed closely by EMC Chalk One Up, who put in a steady ride for a green broke three year old.  EMC Chee Chee just made the score required for EMC by having 8's for all three gaits (they said they could have gone 9's if she had not been so tense).  She lost her mind about having her quiet farm invaded with people and having spectators.  Tiffany did a great job riding her (what can you do but grin and bear it?).  A nice Thoroughbred mare owned by Susan Lax didn't quite get the score required for stud book upgrade, but she was a rock in the ring with my nutty Chee Chee.  Two Thoroughbred mares were presented.  Neither was accepted.  Five colts were presented.  Talley Ruhle's colorful colt by Black Tie out of Satsuma by Sandro Hit was chosen as top colt.  There were 5 fillies presented.  Our two RSF bred fillies were named tied for top filly and were declared top foals of the day.  Both are by Loerke- Lhemon Pie out of Whichita by Waltzertraum Moon, and Lhuau out of Beatrix by Bruderherz.

Thanks to all of my volunteers and friends that helped make it all happen:  Tiffany Mohr, Kristen Zawatski. Julia Haskel, Beth Hart, Dennis Moore, Michael Bragdell, Klaus Schengber, Dana Wirth and her grandmother Debbie, Talley Ruhle, photographer Angela Pritchard, and last but not least, my husband, Jim.  We are very proud of our successes so far this year, but we have one more mare to present.  Wyneth L will be inspected and do the MPT at the Hedgeland inspection on Sept 15- 16.  PHEW!  The first photo is of me overseeing my kingdom...
